Attention: People who use the pool

I am moving out a soon as my lease is up. I am out of college and have a full time job so I'm not really into the whole "college life" apartments anymore. I frequent the pool when the weather gets warm, but for some reason the apartment management doesn't care one bit that non-residents come use the pool and volleyball court. This wouldn't bother me, except for the fact that I was unable to use the pool because there have been huge "Cancun" type parties here on several occasions (typically Saturdays and Sundays.) Everyone was saying, "Yeah...this is where we come to use the pool!! They don't care!! Just open the back gate...It's broken!!" (Matter of fact, it is usually propped open.) After one huge "non-resident party", I tried to use the pool the following week and it was closed for 3 days due to sand in the pool. On another occasion, I was there on a Sunday and they closed early because someone broke the pool light (that doesn't work at night anyway) and got glass in the pool. They then closed it for 4 days again to drain, sweep, and refill. In my previous apartment, this never happened because the management would actually go around checking, "What is your apartment number'...How many guests do you have'" (You were allowed 3 guests per resident.) I guess here you are allowed 100 guests per resident because there were 2 girls from management right there in the middle of the pool partying with all the other non-residents after the office closed. On several occasions people have been drinking glass bottles in the pool and management walks right by with their blinders on. On a separate occasion, there were about 6 kids, probably about ages 8-14 (who I saw got dropped off in the parking lot) and came for a free swim. They were wearing their clothes (shirts, jeans, denim shorts, etc...) in the water, right in the middle of the day when the office was open. A friend of mine (who lives in a different building here) reported these non-resident kids to the office, who didn't seem to mind that they were making use of the pool. All in all, move here if you aren't a pool user or are a pool user and want the "college life" atmosphere at the pool. (If that is the case, feel free to have huge parties at the pool and invite as many guests as you please!!) But, if using the pool is important to you (in a non-"college life" atmosphere) , I would suggest looking elsewhere. The hours on the sign say 10-10, but the pool is hardly ever opened up at 10. And don't even think about going on a Monday. They may as well officially close the pool on Mondays. (Apparently, they have to "treat" the pool on Mondays during supposed pool use hours due to the "non-resident parties" over the weekends.) If you have a dog, feel free to not only let it in the pool/volleyball area, but in the water as well. Many residents (or probably even non-residents) do this and the "No Dogs Allowed" rule isn't enforced here. Don't get me wrong, I loved living in those kinds of apartments when I was in college. But now that I am not anymore, I want to enjoy a pool that I pay for that isn't closed for days at a time after non-residential parties. You know'

I completely agree! This place is run by idiots. They are completely unprofessional on every level when it comes to things like this. What they don't seem to understand, is that residents expect results to their justifiable complaints. Yet instead, the problems just persist. You should report them to the Better Business Bureau!!

Amazing responses. First of all, one of your complaints is that they clean the pool on mondays(when no one is out there). Seriously, THEY ARE CLEANING THE POOL! Sorry that they want the pool clean so that the residents can have common areas that are not only livable, but neat, and sanitary. As for the bottles, the office staff are out there walking as well as the courtesy officer(police officer) to minitorthe area and survey the area to ensure that the residents and guest are the only ones out there. I have seen them myself kick out non-residents. The so called "party's" wow, show me one pool in austin texas that is empty on a hot texas day. The comunity has people who like to enjoy the outdooor amenities, and not spend there free time making complaints that contradict themselves. Take a look aroud you and grow up, compared to what is out there, and even without comparing, its relaxing upscale living.

I agree...I've never lived anywhere before in which mgmt seemed to be so unconcerned about non-residents using the pool and amenities. I don't plan to renew my lease because of it...I can't even enjoy the pool at my own apartment complex!

To the Anonymous Coward - Cleaning the pool <> closed because of glass in the pool. I bet you work at the office. You have that tone.
