Very poor maintainance and growing violent crime problem

The biggest problem is crime and vandalism. There have been numerous incidents in which cars were vandalized and broken into. I am aware of several arrests for drug dealing, domestic violence and two cases of sexual assault. Before moving in check with the City of Austin Police Department's database.
The maintenance staff are surly, and usually require multiple calls to actually fix problems. Major items are ignored for months. Dog feces is largely left to sit. This seems to be that the dog waste containers are rarely emptied by the staff.
One item that illustrates the managements priorities. A neighbor, who lives alone, had a heart attack and couldn't come to the door when paramedics arrived. The firemen broke through the door. Management is attempting to fine the tenant for the damage. Since then, they attempt to delay emergency response until maintenance can arrive with a key.
There are much better places to live. If you do decide to live there, make sure they provide complete copies of the lease and there inpection (including UV). Several of my neighbors were charged for pet urine stains that were only visible under UV light. They claimed that there cats didn't leave the stains.

First, I honestly cannot tell what the first picture is, as it doesn't allow you to enlarge it. Second, I think your crime statistics are a little off. I looked up the crime data for this complex and there has been one sexual assault in the last 18 months, and no counts of drug dealing or possession. Perhaps you are exaggerating/fabricating just a bit? Furthermore, there have been only 8 burglary/thefts of a vehicle in the last eighteen months, which isn't high compared to almost any other complex. Try living off of crossing place or wickersham, where there are over 70 counts of vehicle vandalism.
You mention that maintenance has an issue in timely responding. Care to elaborate on specific incidences? I have lived here for three years and they have always responded within two days to any requests I have made. What major items were ignored for months? It isn't fair to make such a statement with no supporting evidence.
I agree on the dog waste issue. I have made several complaints to the office about it, but frankly there is only so much they can do about people being too lazy to pick up their dog crap. Even if they emptied the trash containers more often, that won't stop people who simply don't ever pick it up. Plus, there is always the dumpster to dispose of dog waste.
While it is unfortunate that a woman had a heart attack, it is not the apartment's fault that her door was damaged. It is no different than having a heart attack in a private home and the door being damaged to enter the premises, the homeowner would still be responsible for the damage. So I don't think it is unreasonable that the renter in this case pay for the damages.
I know this complex isn't perfect, but in my experience, it is better than a lot of other places out there. The area is nice and generally safe. There is crime everywhere, much worse in other areas, and for the size of these apartments, they are usually very reasonably priced. Sorry you don't feel that way.

Let me guess you are one of the staff. Attempting to delay emergency response is borderline criminal. I have photos that I took of the various police responses, which included two rapes (though the second may only have been attempted). My car was keyed to a tune of $2700 in damage. A gentlemen in building 14 also suffered like damage to his vehicle and had to get a garage to avoid future damages. You would have had more "proof" if the site would have accepted all of the photos I attempted to upload.

I am not one of the staff, I am a resident, hence the part where I have lived here for three years...
Did you actually witness the apartment staff stand in front of the door and block emergency personnel? I highly doubt it. They tried to do someone the favor of sparing them damage to their apartment is more likely.
Like I said before, I have checked the crime reports in a 1000ft radius for this address, and there are no reported rapes, and only one sexual assault. The sexual assault wasn't rape otherwise it would have been reported as such. so unless you are suggesting that the city of austin police department is publishing false information, you are lying about what you witnessed.
I happen to live by building 14, and I don't deny that there has ever been vandalism or break ins into cars. I simply don't think it is as prevalent as you are trying to make it seem. My car has never been tampered with while living here and I do not park in a garage. Usually when someone keys a car it is motivated by hate and it is personal. Who did you anger to damage your vehicle so badly?
Here are the results of all the crime since November of 2007. Clearly you are mistaken in some of your crime statistics. And if the police were called, it would be included in this list. The area covers the entire complex, as well as 2222 and half of 3M.

Sure looks to me like "lilly4418" is an employee who might happen to live in one of the apt.s (for what she says is three years) ... would you happen to have red hot hair because you sure do get worked-up when anyone writes on this board about anything bad that goes on at Riverlodge Apts. I as well as many others who read this 'interesting' blurbs (who have brains & eyes) can see right thru you and those like you. Nice try but you cannot trick me. Beware those who might consider living at Riverlodge because many of these "positive posts" look alittle "fishy" so the high score may not reflect reality!
