To Renew or not to Renew'

First, I love the location. This is one of the nicest apartments I have lived in. But, the gym sucks. The lap pool is always full of loafers grilling and drinking. Not exactly conducive for a swim workout. The gym is ok......they try. So, I joined that new Lifetime Fitness 10 mi away and it's awesome. However, part of the sale of the apt was the fact that I wouldn't need to join a gym due to their awesome facilities. Nothing compares to Lifetime Fitness, I admit.
Also, there is a huge population of dog owners here that don't pick up poop. The complex provides walking areas and poop bags that are mostly ignored. They even sent out a letter to every apt acknowledging the problem. Like I said, they try.
The apartment is great. Very spacious and cute. Wish I had covered parking without having to pay. My microwave quit working and they replaced it, but the replacement is cheap and loud. The walls are thick, but the ceiling is THIN!
Also, my car was broken into and the radio was ripped out! This happens everywhere, I know. I reported it to the office and they sent out a letter. They also said that they would disable the gate by removing the punch code. LIARS!!!! There is still a gate code! I walked into the office the other day and asked for the code and they gave it to me. No ID, NOTHING!
The gate is no protection. Just a waste of electricity and time.
They do pick up trash 3X a week which is nice cuz you leave it on the curb and don't have to trek to the dumpster. But, they include this charge in your water bill and it's high. You also have to pay gas just for the water heater (or fireplace). Texas gas service needs a $50 deposit and they charge you $7.00/month as a "customer charge." That is before usage fees. What the hell' They don't do that to homeowners.
All of my venting is typical apt stuff. They hit me with a renewal notice that jacked my rent up $55 per month. I don't want to move, but they are pushing me out with this crap. HELP.

This is not typical apartment gripes! I am having terrible problems! As for the dog poo, I agree that it is a terrible problem. It would help if the new crew woudl care enough to REFILL the dog stations! I have to call A LOT to have them refill the bags. Don't renew, you can OWN a nice home for cheaper!
