Ok i understand that people get the urge to go camping in the wild and experiencing living with the animals & bugs. BUT not living with them at HOME!!!! I lived at Riverlodge for 7 months. There staff is very Unfriendly, there were only friendly up until i signed my lease. Its funny how they were really polite & friendly and greeted me really well when i arrived. But try to call them and when you mention that you live there there tone of voice changes like you are their bill collector haha. Regarding the bugs i once found a poisonous scorpion (yes poisonous i took a picture and checked at whatisthatbug.com) on the wall above the balcony door. and another one that looks just like it in the kitchen. One day i was brushing my teeth in the morning and i look down and i saw a Centipede it was like 6 inches long. i grabbed it with a napkin and threw it in the toilet. later on i found out that they have a nasty bite and are also poisonous. I had a room mate with me and after those incidents he moved out. and 2 of my neighbors in the SAME building also moved out for the same reason, one neighbor was scared because he has a 15 month old son. that neighbor said he saw a rattle snake in front of his door one time. I also found a black widow spider in the kitchen on the floor i couldn't catch it because it ran so fast under the fridge. i did go to the lease office and i took scorpion#2 with me in a zip lock bag :D and i showed it to one of the people there he told me he would send someone Monday to spray. They did not come until Wednesday and couple of times i saw 2 little frogs outside my door. Every night i kept feeling that something is crawling up my leg after all these incidents. And during summer time you are going to LOVE the annoying sounds of all the bugs around the building. What i liked about the community is the way it looked it was clean on the outside and inside. they just need to find a good and permanent solution to the apartments like spraying all apartments monthly and they need to change 90% of their staff.
p.s. i added pictures for most of the bugs i was able to find in my apartment.

Great report and welcome to Austin. Where are you from? Those bugs snakes and frogs are indigenous to this area. Many people would find the night time sounds relaxing. I think bugs and frogs sound better than traffic and the roar of the AC units. Apartment complexes usually have a bug guy come by one specific day per week. The best thing is to make sure that there are no openings around doors and windows where the bugs can squeeze in. Good luck in your next place.
