I highly recommend against living at Riverside Square Apartments under any circumstances.

1) The management is very shady, and continually tried to rip us off. They are currently trying to charge us more than the stated rent in our lease. We have had to secure lawyers (who assured us that Riverside Square is attempting to illegally charge us money), and still the management insists on trying to charge us despite what the law says.

2) When they found out we would not pay rent that was higher than our lease, they illegally attempted to evict us, lied about giving us eviction notice, and forged dates for when notices were left for us.

3) The management staff is extremely rude. I've been hung up on by the managment staff, and multiple members of the staff have been rude to us during our time there.

4) The apartments are also very old and fairly crappy. The complex is beat, and CWS does not care to update anything, since they will soon be torn down and turned into condos.

5) Maintenance is not responsive. We had the AC break in the summer on a Friday, and the office told us that AC breakage, even in a Texas Summer, is not considered an emergency, so we would have to wait until the next week for a repair.

6) The electric bills are very expensive here. The building is built over heat pipes, and we needed to run the AC constantly, adding to the expense.

7) It is not a safe place. There are odd characters who patrol the parking lot, and I've been approached by numerous people (not residents) asking for money.

8) There are a ton of loud residents who play music late unto the night, and have loud parties by the pool.

There are tons of great places to live in Downtown Austin or on South Congress, but this is not one of them. You will regret living here, and everyone who moves in moves out very quickly. Don t believe the staff that any of these incidents are isolated, all my neighbors quickly moved out, and we are happy to have left. gkZ41df9CgXQPfm8K2A7
