These apartments are outdated and not energy efficient. I pay over 100$ a month for electricity in a one bedroom apartment; I think my a/c unit is from 1970 and the cold air just leaks out of the apartment. They will shut off water without any notice. Also these apartments are more like a retirement community, nothing but old people living here for the most part. I do not recommend these to anyone who is looking for a good deal or even nice apartment. The plumbing supply company open 7 days a week next door is noisy as hell especially if you live on the east apartments. Do not live here it is a rip off.

Also, I would like to add that the new toilets they replaced everyone's with are very cheap quality.

I have been showing recent prospective tenants ratings on this web site and Rockwood has always been one of my favorites and most trustworthy complexes to lease as a locator. Their property is maintained pristinely with excellent management from Martine Properies, who knows the value of Mary Ann, Glen and Maryland. I have to firmly disagree with you that older generations live there; I have placed a diverse multitude of all ages at Rockwood from graduate students, young married couples, professors, and many single indivuals who have all stayed more than 5 years. Some of these tenants I leased sight unseen from out of state or out of the country and they trusted me on my opinion of how well run this property is and how all the employees take pride in their responsibilities to the complex and their tenants. You have to understand that maintenance issues arise that may or may not be in their control, due to the city, outside vendors, etc; but they are always right on top of any issues that arise. The complex was built in 1983 and every worn part, a/c, flooring, etc. replaced as an on need basis and not ignored. They have always updated units and are consistent with constant upgrading. For all their employees to have been there 28 years, 10 years, and 6 years, should tell you something!!!!!!! Your beef if unwarranted. This is a wonderful property and I will continue to recommend it.

This person sounds young and bitter. I have lived here ON the same side as the plumbing supply place for over a year now and other than an a little noise every once in a while this place is very quiet.Sometimes too quiet like noone else lives here lol. As for the electric bill my normal was like 60$ a month before summer hit then it got to about 85-90$ a month but thats the 105 degree days that we have been having. The AC units look almost new and my apt get down right cold even when its hot as hell outside. This is also with me working from home with 2 computers, a tv and lights on all day from like 10 am to sometimes 3 or 4 am. So i think the bill is very reasonable under these conditions They have had the water shut off recently without notice but it was due to a pipe problem that they had fixed and back running in a couple of hours. When i noticed I called and manager gave me full rundown and let me know it would be back on soon. Things like this happen everywhere and you just have to hope they deal with it fast which they did and do. I have been here a combination of 3 different apt units for over 2 or more years and this has only happened the one time that i know of and that was like this week. And last but not least I am 35 and dont consider myself old just yet and have seen/meet alot of my neighbors and we have a good range of young and old. Maybe she thinks anyone above drinking age is old and thats why she couldnt relate. Dont let her fool you this is not a old folks home. I am almost personally offended by this review as it doesnt reflect the real rockwood apt that I have lived in for so long. Ill miss this place when im gone they have treated me and my dog like family when they didnt have to.

Another not-that-old plumbing-supply neighbor here. This reviewer seems to have unrealistic expectations, and the review does not seem accurate to me. I can hear some traffic noise from Burnet, but the plumbing yard is quiet (and invisible for much of the year). My electric bill has been around $40 this summer, with day job and thermostat-adjusting. Around the time I moved in, solar screens were installed on all windows to improve energy efficiency. The "cheap quality" toilets are low-flow models. Since residents get billed for water, I appreciated the owner/management making that effort.
