Great Place to Live - Best In Austin

I originally spotted Salado Apartments on the Internet. I liked the location and decided to drive through the complex to see what it was like. I liked the location and complex so much I stopped in the office to get a brochure and some additional information. They showed me two different size apartments at that time. I was really impressed with the floor plans and believe they are unique and the best I have ever seen. I filled out an application and was place on the waiting list, setting a potential date of availability. As an apartment came available we finalized all the paperwork and set a date for me to move in.

One afternoon after work I stopped by the office to say hello to Mykal, the manager, and to see how things were progressing on my apartment. I was greeted by Tim, one of the office staff and I mentioned that I wondered what the view from my balcony was like. He explained that it was company policy for future tenants not to see the apartment until all the work inside was finished. He then excused himself. A few minutes later he came back. He had gone to my apartment and took a few pictures from the balcony with his cell phone so I could see what the view was like. Needless to say I was not only surprised but impressed that someone would do that. Since I have moved into my apartment at Salado I have learned that this kind of service normal, and that the staff will do whatever it can for the tenants if at all possible. The view from my apartment balcony like most of the apartments here at Salado, faces Walnut Creek. The creek is tree lined with so many trees I can just barely see any of the other apartments in the complex. I have so much privacy I never close the blinds. When it rains the sound of the cascading water down Walnut Creek is like living out in the North Woods.

The day that I picked up the keys to my apartment and started moving in I found a welcome basket with some snacks and treats on the counter. It had a note that said; Welcome to Your New Apartment - The Staff of SALADO at Walnut Creek. None of the previous apartment complexes that I had lived in, here in Austin had ever done this. In fact, no apartment complex I had ever lived in before had done this.

My apartment has all energy saving appliances, water heater and air-conditioning unit which saves me money on my electric bill. It also has double pain insulated sliding glass doors and windows for added energy efficiency. My neighbors all seem to be working people, which means that the complex is relatively quiet. I never hear any noise from the apartments around me.
The neighbors I have meet seem nice and courteous.

If the maintenance personnel need to do any kind of work in my apartment they leave me a note the day before asking if the next day would be convenient for me. When they are finished they leave me a signed work order on the counter explaining what work was completed and by whom.

The location is close to all major highways, 183, 290, I-35 and even Mo Pac is very accessible and no more than a few minutes away. I work in far South Austin and my morning and evening trip to and from work only takes a few minutes. Working an early shift helps. There is plenty of shopping, restaurants, and movie theaters in the general area. The Super Wal-Mart with a great grocery store and the best gas prices in town is just a few minutes away.

Salado Apartments is actually adjacent to and/or part of the Walnut Creek Business Park. I mention this because there is so much green space around the apartment complex that I feel as though I live out in the country and not in the city. There are all kind of winding streets to take my dog for long walks, and even during the work week there is not much traffic to speak of. On weekends there is so little traffic I can go for a long bicycle ride without having to worry about getting hit by cars or trucks.

I have never before posted anything good or bad on any apartment complex on a rating site before this. I have done this because I believe that Salado Apartments at Walnut Creek is the best apartment complex I have lived in here in Austin and one of the finest I have lived in anywhere. I would highly recommend it to any one that want a great place to live.
