Another long time resident bites the dust!

I have lived at this complex for 6 years - the first 3 years were very nice, but after the complex changed management to Torinto, not only did the office staff not care a bit about the residents, but treated most people like they were doing them a favor by "allowing" them to live in the complex. Should have been the other way around. When I first moved here, each time I renewed my lease for 1 year, I got a signing bonus, usually $400 that was prorated over the 12 month lease. This last time I renewed my lease, not only did they wait until less than a month until my lease was up and it was too late for me to give 30 days notice or find another apartment, but they raised my rent. I asked why and was told that they could raise it, so why not! Obviously, they don't care about retaining decent, nice tenants who always pay their rent on time and are quiet and never throw trash around, huh' Almost all the residents are --------- and don't care about keeping their apartment clean or the grounds clean or the parking lot clean because on any morning when I walked my dog, I would find empty and broken beer bottles and "used personal items" just thrown in the parking lot. The hispanic residents play their music so loud all the time, but the office staff couldn't seem to stop that. Residents with dogs allow their pets to poop wherever and don't pick up after them. If the office can't keep the residents from allowing their pets to poop everywhere, then they should have the maintenance men clean up the piles of dog poop. The parking lot and small areas of grass and gravel stink because of the amount of dog poop.

When I have gone to the office to pick up a package, the girls in the office act like it is an inconvenience for them to get off their cell phones to help me. Not once have any of them even apologized for keeping me waiting for 10-15 minutes while they finish their cell phone call in spanish - obviously personal calls.

The complex is not gated and their idea of security is having a retired policeman who lives there, walking around with his flashlite at 5 am. Last spring someone broke into my car and tore my dash up trying to take out my car stereo. My son was on leave from the Army and his car was broken into and his care stereo and all his CDs were stolen. It is not uncommon to see a police car parked at the complex, investigating. Several months ago there were gun shots going off in the complex - and of course, the police came out. When I asked about that in the office, I was told that the resident was "asked" to move out. Big Wooppee.

The apartments are very small but for some reason, most of the residents have big dogs, at least 2 of them, and most of them bark and growl at you when you walk by when they are in the parking lot. Some don't even keep their dogs on leashes when they are out walking their dogs.

The office staff does a very bad job of knowing who they are renting to and so many of the apartments have multi-families living in them. There are several Eastern Indian men living there - 4 or 5 to an apartment, no furniture, and their food stinks up the whole apartment building. the office has now decided to make the residents get a "parking permit" in order to park on the parking lot. Really stupid - I have been a long time resident, but I had to get a permit or the office would tow my car, at my expense. What about all the cars that don't have tags or have expired inspection stickers'

Right outside the complex at the rear entry to the apartments most days looks like a truck stop. It is not uncommon to have 2-3 large trucks parked there for several days at a time. Also on Thursday and Friday mornings, there is usually a gang of --------- in the street drinking all night and throwing beer bottles on the grassy area and along the side walk. Makes it really hard to walk my dog.

I have been a quiet resident, always paid my rent on time, kept my apartment clean and my patio nice with outdoor patio furniture, but enough is enough. I was counting the days until my lease was up...I held a celebration party at my new place because I was so relieved and glad to be out of that hispanic ghetto!

It appears that the same person responds to everybody's review of Salado. You can tell by the way SHE writes that it's the same person responding to every bad review of these apartments. SHE takes every bad review personally. WHY?
From: Anonymous Date: 11/05/2007
That's true. She needs to get a life and stop making these reviews her whole life. Love yourself, drink more water, spend time with your family, watch the sunset, go out to dinner, go to church, smile more, laugh loudly, do something that makes you happy. Sweetie, stop being rude to every person who writes a review. You don't have to agree with every review but there is no reason to be rude. Grow up!
