I lived at Salado a few years ago, I think back in 2002 or 2004, I can't remember exactly. I lived in the back apartments that face the townhomes in the back, I lived on the third floor. The problem that I had with Salado was that I had huge rats running across the ceiling in the apartments. The weren't inside the apartment but in the attic part of the apartment. I called the office to complain serveral times and I was told that I had to go through their website to put in a maint request, unfortunately at the time I was working 12-14 hour days so that was impossible to do. Finally, I got tired of it and I started calling other people. I called the building health code inspector, the managment company for the complex, and BBB. Needless to say, they were in my apartment the very next day. They put traps in the attic and that night I heard the traps catch them. So the day, maint came by, I swear after two mins left and came back with a huge trash bag and the biggest mouse trap I've ever seen in my life. I could totally hear him throwing the rats in the bag. So, when he finished putting the traps in the attic I asked him, if he what he found. He was like, oh just some little mice. LMAO! I tell everyone this story, and we have the greatest laugh. Anyway, after that maint came to my apartment every single day for about 2 weeks. It didn't fix the problem. It seemed to have made it worse. Every night when the lights were off, it never failed you could hear them up there it, it sounded like a hundreds of them and when I turned on the lights you could hear them running back out of whatever hole they had. It was the worst experience ever. Thank God, I only had like 2 months left on my lease at the time all this was happening. My neighbor said he could hear them in his walls, and he ended up breaking his lease. With that problem going on, it didn't help with the new ghetto people that were moving in. I was scared to walk out of my apartment and to my car and it was parked right there in front of my door! Someone was murdered there also when I lived there. There was also a HUGE roach problem. Towards the end of my lease, the apartment manager was very nice to me. (I think her name was Laura) She always asked if she could help me with anything and tried to offer me another apartment when my lease was up. I laugh now looking back at the whole situation, but at the time it was a horrible experience. Salado is by far one of the worst apartments that I ever lived in and I'm surprised that it is still opened. LOL They should seriously be charging like 250 per apartment there, if that. LOL!!! I wouldn't advise anyone to live in these things. There are way better apartments out there for your money.

OMG!!!! We also hear rats in our walls and attic all the time!!! We hear the rats at least a few times per week. We have never called maintenance because they are not in the house but the sound of the rats make me squirm everytime we hear them. It is soooo gross and the noise is sooooo freaking LOUD!

The poster had time to make all of the phone calls listed but didn't have time to go to their website and make a maintance request. Sounds fishy.

I don't feel safe here either. I feel like my car gets further and further away when I'm walking to it. I can't get in it and get it locked fast enough.
