Mostly Lame.

My lease is almost up at Salem Walk. I found myself asking 'Why did I move here' after about a month.
THE BAD
1. The complex is overrun with people.
2. Parking sucks.
3. In desperate need of 'updating' inside and out... OH! For the past few months they have been trying to add carports, but didn't have the permits, so this has been an ongoing project.
4. Office Management has changed 3 times in a year.
5. There are normally more people living in a unit than should be allowed by law.
6. KIDS EVERYWHERE! They seem to have no regard for cars driving in the parking lot. They often run out into the street from behind the cars. It's actually kind of fun dodging them.
7. There are rules regarding the dumpsters, these are always ignored.
8. Parking lot is often a mechanic shop.
9. Laundry room is a joke.
10. The water bill is expensive.
11. Most of the power outlets do not work.
12. Appliances are from the 80's.
13. It's a pretty crappy location.
14. If you want to brave the pool area.. be my guest. Normally, it's inhabited by shady characters, soiled diapers, and quinceaneras.
15. Normally in the mornings people just let their dogs and cats roam around the complex aimlessly.
THE GOOD
1. Cheap
2. Maintenance is phenomenal. Always fixed correctly the first time.
3. The 'New' Office manager seems to have a good head on her.
I can't recommend this complex to anyone and feel that I did something good for that person. I normally remind myself that I have low rent and deal with the 'issues'. I'm sure there is more to the bad, but this is all I could come up with at the moment.
