I haven't lived here in a long time so I don't anything about maintanence or management now. This was the first apartment I ever had on my own and while things could have been better for someone so green I lucked out. No one was trying to pull anything over on me in San Gabriel. I lived in apt 9 and if you can don't ever move in there. It is in the corner under the stair well and shares the biggest wall with the airconditing room. It was always loud in my apartment. The tiny window I was alotted didn't open and because of my position my window faced a wall. So because of the outside light I never knew by looking at my window if it was am or pm because the same amount of light came in. Four years ago I was paying $489 plus water and electric for 335 sq ft. I moved at the end of my lease because they were going to raise the rent to $499 a month plus all the other stuff. I did not controll the air so I frozen in summer and sweated in winter. I didn't need maintenance but twice and that was in the first week to fix my lock it was broken and to fix a loose outlet. The blessings of living next door the airconditing room is that the head maintenance guy came by my door at least 3 times a day and that's how I got my stuff fixed. Feeling like the dumb country bumkin' who didn't know how to lock a door. I asked if he could help and he fixed the lock and then went and looked at the outlet without me asking. He also he looked at the whole apartment to see if other things needed fixing and because my furniture hadn't arrived yet he offered to go get me a bed. You could probably do better but for your first apartment it was great experience.
