We've lived here for almost a year and are debating on renewing our lease or moving. So far our stay has been pretty good for apartment living. So i'll just list the positives and negatives that we've come across.

Positives:

1. The walls are pretty thick, which is awesome, because we don't ever hear our neighbors and we don't have to worry about them complaining about our screaming baby. (the only time I hear our neighbors is when they are in the stairwell)

2. the parking is nice, you don't have to pay extra to park under a covered area, it's first come first serve, I definitely like that.

3. The pool and exercise room are nice and kept up pretty well, although we really don't use them much.

4. The grounds crew is always working hard keeping the place looking nice.

5. In our experience, the maintenance crew has been great, every-time i've called in for something for them to fix they have come within 2 days and are very friendly.

6. They just replaced all the roofs in the complex and added new dumpsters, along with recycling bins as-well. They are working hard on making the place look nice.

7. We love the layouts in the apartments, the insides are kept nice. We love our apartment!

8. Our utility bills have not been unreasonable. I've heard at other places that it is much much more expensive for electricity and water.

Negatives:

1. The management is always changing. The first management that was here when we got here was very shady. We only signed up because we liked the place so much. The management now seems nice, but I don't know them too well.

2. The rent is high. We were given a "deal" when we moved in that makes it reasonable, but if they raise our rent next year we are gone. You can find a better place for the same list price.

3. There have been numerous break-ins lately. We have not had any issues with it. but supposedly a lot of people in the apartment complex have had things stolen from their cars and even their apartments. (I assume this could happen at any complex though)

4. The gate in the front is pretty pointless. The complex is not gated, but they have a locked gate in the front that only works half the time.

there are probably other positive and negative things with this place, but I can't think of them now. Overall though, the place is nice. I like my apartment. it's very big. If the rent stays where it is (at the special deal that we got), we'll stay. If not, we are moving on.

Whatever... this is clearly written by an employee. Why else would they mention they love all the floorplans? Who cares about other people's floorplans when living in an apartment. You're better off owning your own place. And don't the the downplay of the crime give you false confidence. Yes, it can happen anywhere, but at San Marin IT'S RAMPANT!!!! Protect yourself, your family, and your belongings. LIVE ELSEHWERE. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED. Go down the street to Mesa Verde.

I agree, totally written by an employee. My neighbor in building 13 got robbed a few weeks ago and the security officer that was on duty is no longer patrolling. Instead of trying to deal with the real, fixable issues the management decides to have 'dinner to go'. Not only that but the mud in front of building 8 and 9 still remains without a single response to a request to spray it down...I can't wait to move...
