Decent, but not great

Years at this apartment: 2001-01-01 - 2003-01-01
I've lived at San Marin for 2 years now, and I'm not renewing my lease this time.
There's nothing terrible about this apartment complex, but it still has some problems that eventually made it unlivable.
Positives - The apartments themselves are very nice.
Solid floors and walls; I rarely hear my neighbors.
The floor layouts are nice too; they're not your run-of-the-mill layouts you find in every other complex.
The grounds are kept clean, and the pool/clubhouse area is very nice.
Negatives - My #1 problem with San Marin is the parking.
Residents are issued permits and there are tons of visitor parking spaces lining the edges of the complex.
Unfortunately, the management office refuses to enforce the permits.
I have complained 4 times to management about the issue, and they always promise "to look into it".
I have to park two to three buildings over nearly every evening, and management has yet to do ANYTHING about the problem.
This is the sole reason I'm not re-leasing.
Another problem I had when I moved in was management's apathy about an odd odor in my apartment.
A few days after moving in, my roommate and I noticed a smokey/burning smell in the kitchen.
We could never identify it or the source, but we thought it might be bad wiring or something with the refridgerator.
When we informed management and asked them to investige, they refused, and suggested that we were the cause of the smell.
"You probably burned some food." "Do you smoke'" "Maybe something's gone bad in the fridge." We'd only lived there 2 days, hadn't cooked anything yet, and we don't smoke.
Eventually (after weeks of complaining) they sent out a maintenance person while we were at work.
He just left a note saying he didn't smell it and closed the work order.
The smell has continued on and off for the past two years.
