I think this place is pretty cool....

I moved in back in August, and I really enjoy the building I live in. When I leased, I found the man who helped us extremely natural and honest. He was very helpful and was always available to us if we had questions. I love the trash pick up - although the two hour time slot and threat of fine is a bit difficult when you work or have class during trash pick up time, but I haven't gotten a fine yet. I love the pool, haven't used the excersize room or the hot tub though, because it's inside for some reason...I think the speed bumps are great because there are little kids that like to play outside (like any kid would, it's natural) and it reduces the risk of hitting one of them or hitting another car, etc. The gates break when people are impatient and run into them. That is human error, not lack of proper management. The management leaves notices and reminders on the clip outside the front door, which is convenient. The parking is fabulous compared to my old place where I had to walk for about 2 minutes from my car to my apartment. If the covered parking was cheaper, they would make more money, because only one car parks under the carport by my building and the rest are empty. Also, the gate code box is fine unless its raining, but the clickers are too expensive also. How about making them free and then if you lose it or mess it up, THEN you pay for it' The hallway lighting doesn't always work, which is discerning at night when I'm alone and am returning home. That's why I make sure no one is around me and I always have my apartment key ready (like any girl should, anywhere). I don't get why there aren't microwaves, but since I haven't had one, I also haven't needed it. The walls are a little thin, and I can actually hear my neighbor's music, but I've never been able to hear their conversations like I could when I lived off Riverside (where my truck was stolen and my next car got its stereo and all my CDs stolen). This area is nice, close to the highway but just far enough so there isn't any noise from it, 30 seconds away from the HEB, a back road to avoid the awful lights on Parmer, and a plethora of retail stores and restaurants just minutes away. The Walgreens is convenient as well. However, I do wish there was a closer gas station that was open 24 hours. The only real problem I've had is my neighbor who likes to shout to me (in front of my boyfriend even!) when hes sitting outside on his balcony. Overall, I really like this place. But then again, I'm just a college student who knows she's not living in a ritzy neighborhood.
