I am nearing the end of my 1 year lease and i can honestly say that my stay at San Paloma Hasnt been horrible. Im a pretty quiet person and i like things that way. I have had a few run-ins with my downstairs neighbors. they like to have the loudest parties that go one until 4 in the morning. When i told this to management they pretty sad that i was lucky i was on the third floor cause it could be much worse. I've called the courtesy cops on them at least 4x. Now she comes upstairs and warns me about her parties but she has picked up on feeding stray cats and hey who doesnt love tripping over 5 or 6 strays going to work in the morning'. The complex is very clean.and i havent had any vandalism of my car. I dont think the apts are worth the amount they charge. not nearly worth it. yeah the pool is nice, but we have so many non residential swimmers i might as well live at Sea World. The maintance work gets done within 1 to 2 days of my request, but then he lost my master key. Had to get new locks, now i cant use the over priced amenities of this place.I love the ladies up front, really cool people. This is my first apt in Austin, Iam now realizing for the price im paying, i should have ceiling fans, a microwave and at least a real garden tub...not a tub shaped like an oval! The parking could be better. I think we need to have assigned vistor parking, and stickers for everyone who doesnt pay for covered or a garage. It really sucks when someones visitor is double parked and you have to walk half a block to your apartment.Im not a kid person so im glad we dont have a playground, but we do have a few skateboarders who love to fly around the corners...people do speed around here and im afraid for the little guys. The biggest problem i have so far with San Paloma is the increasing amount of Police activity. For the last month i have seen several cops sitting with headlights on, or creeping very slowly as if looking for someone. Being that im on the third floor corner i also have a terrific few of the surrounding area, there have been helicopters flying over this complex and the neighboring one. I thought it was the news chopper until i seen them being a bright light into a few windows. SCARY. Im worried about what may have caused this sudden spike in police activity. San Paloma obviously isnt worried because they havent mentioned it even when asked. I will be moving when my lease is up. Not because it is a bad place to live. Im just not paying these prices anymore and they are going up thanks to the UT Football team which is rumored to have toured our complex last week. This place already looks like MTV Beach House in the summer...i can imagine what it will look like with the UT groupies everywhere.
