I have lived in many apartments all over the country. I have lived in these apartments for over 3 years. The only reason that I am still here is because I am having trouble with the 60 day move out notification that residents must give management before terminating their lease. The lease at these apartments require the tenants to give the management 60 days notification prior to moving out. The trouble is that can't find somewhere to live, then tell them to hold it for 60 days, no one will do that. So you have to give your 60 day notification to the management before you find something. I don't know about you readers but I have trouble with the idea that I have to move and don't know where I am going. I think the lease is set up like this to trap tenants here. The owners probably know that a 60 day move out notification is tough to work out and tenants end up staying even though they want to move out. This is the only complex that I have lived in that has a 60 day notification...
After I moved in and my lease was up the management then changed my lease and put in a clause that makes the Rent due date the first day of the month ONLY!! It used to be due on the first of the month and they gave you until the 3rd before it is counted late. Now if you forget to pay on the 1st, you are charged a late fee of $40 or $50 Dollars a day. I have never been late on a payment and would expect a certain level of courtesy from the management but they seem to be very hard core about collecting money. This is also something that I have only seen at San Paloma.....
There is a designated area to place your trash 3 days a week and it will be picked up and taken to the trash compactor. There is a 2 hour window from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm to place your trash in the area for removal. If you leave it there early, even 10 minutes early, someone will dig through it and you will be fined $50 per bag. This is another thing that I have only seen here....
I read someone's comments about the ice and they are correct. There was ice all over the steps and landings this week. The was no ice melting stuff put out. None at all. Everywhere else I went had rock salt or sand or something, my work, the malls, other apartments. But nothing was done here. Trash was not picked up on those days. There was a note placed at the trash pick up area that said there would be no trash pick up because of the ice. So this meant that I and probably 600 other tenants of these apartments took their trash out and walked across the icy stairs and icy landings just to get to the trash site and read their note. They didn't want their trash guy to slip but could care less about their tenant walking across the ice carrying trash bags and slipping!!!! I am sure some people did not see the note for whatever reason and left their trash only to be fined $50 per bag!!!
My carpets have never been clean since I moved in. There are stains that appeared out of no where right after I moved in. These were obviously old stains. I think the carpets were cleaned right before I moved in. This carpet appears to be very old, it has been cheaply patched and repaired in the past by maintenance and looks awful even after cleaning. All of the cabinets are made out of inferior materials and the doors sag and fall of. The interior doors in my apartments are actually falling apart. The glue is coming apart on them all. My hot water heater was broken over a holiday and it was freezing cold outside. I called maint and they were off for the holiday and wouldn't come for days. I froze for three days.
When I moved in I was told all about the pool, the wonderful restaurant, The great workout facilities, The massages, the hair salon and the stage where performances can take place. The restaurant was awful and closed down shortly after I moved in and has never been open since. The workout facilities are worn out and most of the electronic displays are broken and are never repaired. I have never seen anyone in the area where you supposedly can get a massage or hair cuts. There has never been anything done at the stage since I have been here except some really cool residents would go to it occaisionally and show movies. Management has never done anything at the stage. I am not sure what it is even there for.. The pool is cool, but it is pretty run down too . On the weekends the pool gets over run with ghetto type people from the surrounding area. There are lots of ghetto babies swimming around in their diapers and underwear. They do have BBQ grills that are usually broken and broken speakers that look like rocks that constantly spew static and not music....
The Hot Tub is usually broken, when it works there is usually some gross brown foam all over the top of it. My friend got a nasty rash after getting in it so I will not go in...
The water bills here are suspicously high. Higher than anywhere else I have lived. I have a 2 bedroom unit and the bill is always about $45 a month. I am the only one who lives in it.. I must be paying for the sprinklers that never stop going off... really they constantly run at night... and the pool water which I thought the owner was paying.... This needs further research I believe.
The security gates are always broken. These apartments are not in the best part of town. There is a lot of CRIME happening here and the broken gates allow criminals not easily come in and steal your stuff....
There are not enough parking spaces and you will usually have to park far away from your building. The parking spots are so narrow that my car is now covered with door dings....
The walls are so this that I can here my neighbor URINATE in his toilet and the ghetto bass thump from surrounding apts. I have never lived anywhere that had walls as thin as these.....
Management is very rude and abrasive. They do not treat tenants very well. They will not work with you on anything at all and primarily seemed concerned with taking as much money from you as they can and doing nothing for the tenants. I really feel like they treat the tenats as second rate people. I have a much better job than any of them and live a very good clean life, I am sure much better than most of them, yet they talk down to me and are very disrespectful.....

Ok and the paint scheme on these apartments is hideous!!! It is a very faded pink, orange and yellow, with PURPLE railings... totally faded and quite revolting!!....
The grounds look pretty good.
A lot of the tenants are cool.
Thats it in a nutshell.
