i have been a resident at san paloma for about two years now and I have seen nothing but sneaky behavior and poor customer service. First off, the management does not like to be liable for ANYTHING so don't expect the stairs or roads to be sanded down when it ices over in the wintertime (especially a pain this past winter because the complex entrance is a slope so cars were sliding into the flowerbeds!!). Another thing that the office won't sell you on are the HIGH water bills. By high I am paying over $50 in a water bill for my small one bedroom!! I am not even home half the time but that doesnt matter because the water bills are allocated across the WHOLE property so the residents get to pay for water they don't use (meaning from unauthorized residents/guests in other apts, the corporate apartment water bills, the staff's water bills- because the staff gets free water and the owner lets the cost be absorbed by all the residents instead of paying this himself!!). I cannot believe my water bill DOUBLED this month and the best the management can do is come up with excuses as to WHY instead of taking any action or initiative to find out the root cause of such high water bills. The management is TOO CHEAP to just have the water be metered individually. The water bills as stated on the lease is not even supposed to be higher than $30 (which is still too much for a one bedroom water bill!).. The three bedroom apartments have it the worse with water bills over $130!!! RIDICULOUS! the property has gone downhill since I have moved in, with everything from car break-in's and even apartments being broken into now.. Half the time the entrance/exit gates ARE NOT working properly and the lighting around the buildings is terribly poor making me feel unsafe even walking to and from my car. No, I don't expect a crime-free apartment complex, that would be unrealistic. However, I am expecting to get what I am paying for and with my rent constantly increasing at renewal time and the ridiculous water bills/late fees, I expect better service and just a better product from San Paloma's Zavala Management team. The buildings are worn out and the paint is fading. Nothing but trash and cigarette butts litter the property. High cost for a low quality product. Save your money and move anywhere but here!

One thing I've gotta clear up. I work at San Paloma, and I don't have free water. I don't have a discount on my rent. I pay bills just like everyone else who lives here. My water bill went up from 28 to 45 dollars, and just so you know we already got our statement in for next month and the prices are BACK DOWN as we promised. Don't believe me? Feel free to stop in the office and take a look at my lease or my water bill statement.
