This is the worst place to rent. I have lived here for almost an year now. I moved from one apartment to another after 6 months because I had a problem with thousands of Ants all over the apartment. Even after numerous Ant Treatments that San Paloma did in the apartment, the ants would reappear after 3 weeks or so. Then they offered me to move to another apartment at the end of my 6 months lease and actually gave me a good price. I took the bait and moved. This apartment was worse than the first one as not only I encountered Ants but also Roaches in my kitchen on the counters. Again San Paloma sent a guy for Ant treatments and all but after few weeks same situation again... It is a nightmare to live here. I am moving out as soon as my lease ends.

I am also very dissatisfied. Everytime I turn around I have a notice about the trash. I have taken pictures of trash that has been put out at the wrong time or wrong place. They threatend to remove my small barbaque pit my boyfriend got me for Christmas, the only way they would know it was there is if the entered my apartment unauthorized. I have also taken pictures of people barbaqueing in the parking lot. One of the maintance people backed into my boyfriends motoercycle and broke the front fender, when I mentioned it to the office they acted like SO What. I am stuck in this hell whole until October November and I will be moving out.

The San Paloma Apartments and its management company have been members of the Austin Apartment Association, Texas Apartment Association and the National Apartment Association for over 9 years. It has been our experience that very often negative comments posted on this website are by residents who have been evicted for nonpayment of rent or other lease violations, or who have never actually lived on the property, or by competitors. A disgruntled resident can post negative comments as a form of retaliation against management. It should be made clear that most of these negative comments are grossly exaggerated or simply untrue. Be cautious in assuming the truthfulness of postings by anonymous persons who refuse to disclose their identity. We are proud of our property and of the excellent relationships that we have with many of our residents. We recommend that visiting with current residents onsite is a far more reliable method of obtaining third-party opinions about our apartment community and its management.

Don't get me started on trash. They got rats over here and its getting bad because trash is left out. I called the office and the girl told me to tell my neighbor to take her trash to the dumpster. That ain't my job.

San Paloma apartments are the worst complex probably in Texas in terms of not maintaining a clean and safe living environment for their residents. You see bugs, mosquitoes, rats/rodents, all types of wild animals around the complex.
The management staff fails to take any responsibility regarding maintenance issues. Instead management and maintenance both inspect upon move-out and rip-off the tenant for damages that were already present at the apt before the tenant moved in--CHEATERS!
As a result, they are notorious for NOT returning your deposit, and scheming their tenants.
Beware this place is a hell hole, and in addition the management is run by a bunch of uneducated high school drop outs who get their kicks by sitting in an air-conditioned office.
Their defense to all this is that these comments are posted by disgruntled tenants----------! There can be so many people wrong, but ONLY they are right that just shows their level of dishonesty and frustration.
DO NOT RENT AT SAN PALOMA, IT IS A DUMP!!!

It is interesting to see a response from San Paloma Management to my review. Lets do a fact check. I showed you pictures to back up all the claims I made on this review. I asked you "Management Team" that show me the proof of the charges that you claim on my deposit. Your response was this at first, we will send you the pictures as we will need to find them. 3 weeks later, when I again asked for them, your accounting manager told me this: "It is a management decision to withhold those charges on your account because Office manager herself had done a walk through on your apartment, but we don't have pictures to show you". It is to be noted that 3 weeks prior to that your Office Manager was the one who told me that she has no idea about how the charges and the accounting manager will need to review this case. You are ALL LIARS and RIP OFF your tenants. I have already told numerous people not to rent here. One and only one bright spot of this apartment community is the pool area. But after 6 PM when the office closes, you should see the number of cars parked outside the rental office as every Tom, ---- and Harry of the town is here either in the pool or the valley ball court. The security gates are unsecured as they leave it open so more and more people can come in.
The management next door is much nicer and I have friends there who got their deposits back at the end of their lease term. Your Money Your Choice. I wouldn't rent here.

I am a property manager, I am a member of the National Association of Residential Property Managers and of the Texas Apartment Association, and also a Realtor. I work in property management, paid my rent on time every month, and can attest to the fact many of these negative reviews are in fact true. I am aware of the fact some reviews are people who were posted a late fee or owed a balance after moveout, but I've lived there for a while, and can validate these claims. I submitted an earlier review called "Honest Review" so please feel to read it. I live here purely out of convenience right now, but if the place continues to slide downhill and if the staff is still slow to respond to maintenance requests, come renewal time I'm gone. I'm very busy in real estate so I have not had time to plan a move. Put potential renters, beware. Some of these reviews might in fact be from disgruntled residents, however, some of the glowing reviews and responses are most likely from the apartment staff themselves. I'm being 100% honest, when I say the place needs better maintenance staff, they need to FIRE the head of maintenance,------, and fire the head property manager, and get a fresh staff in here. the place lacks maintenance and customer service. Those are my two biggest complaints. Again, I work in the industry, this place is below standard.

I too have a problem with insects--gnats (also known as fruit flies). The gnats were in my home the first day I moved in. I thought they would soon go away because I was just moving in and I assumed that maintenance exterminates the apartment during the cleaning process of one tenant moving out and the next moving in so I didn't call for a maintenance request. I was wrong. The gnats NEVER went away. About two weeks later, I called the office and put in a request for an exterminator to come by. The exterminator that San Paloma uses is wack. I think it's ABC Pest Control and they come every Tuesday. Again, the gnats NEVER went away. Pest Control came to my apartment THREE times and again the gnats NEVER went away. I just stopped putting in requests for pest control because it obviously didn't work. I have lived in the apartment for seven months now and I still see a gnat (or fruit fly) flying around every now and then. But it's not as bad as it was when I first moved in. I keep a VERY clean house. My friends always tease me and say they think I have OCD because I am that much of a neat freak. Therefore, the apartment complex must have some type of infestation problem with gnats. I have read reviews on here where people have infestations of roaches, rats, and ants. But my apartment is infested with gnats. I'm the lucky resident. I haven't seen one roach, rat, or ant yet but it's very annoying to have gnats flying around your face while watching television, or flying around your food while cooking or eating dinner, or flying around your guests who just complemented you on how nice the inside of your apartment looks. How embarrassing.
