I used to be the manager of all three of these places; 1996-1998. Apparently Al no longer owns them, though I am reading the new ownership is just as bad. I wouldn't be surprised to find that Al is still involved with them, by the sound of these complaints.

I was fired from the job because I refused to discriminate against two distinct ethnic groups. I have the court transcripts to prove I was right. He brought in lawyers to an unemployment hearing; I WON!

People like these owners makes it impossible to reduce the hostility between renters and owners across the board. I've read here that no one gets their deposit back, and I'd believe them. I was always given a load of crap from Al for not keeping deposits. As I told him, you can't charge someone for "normal wear-and-tear" on an apartment. Can't charge someone to clean carpets and paint walls, unless the damage in not normal wear.

And Al was always combative. Combative to the point of being sued by a couple of tenants for physical abuse. I know, I have some of those transcripts as well; part of my preparing for my court battle with him...calling Al a slum lord, as I read at least one person here has called him is giving slum lords a bad name.

It has been over 10 years since you have had anything to do with this apartment....it might be time to move on...
