I lived at Silvercreek for several years. It went downhill - fast! Sure, it was great to get a place in South Central Austin. But remember, you get what you pay for. The apartments nearby are very "ghetto". I constantly saw "gangbangers" walking around the parking lot (usually after dark). There were instances of grafitti being sprayed on fences, many, many cars got vandalized (mine included), and one woman even got jumped! As far as interior of the apartment goes, it's dated. My kitchen was tiny, had a refrigerator with no ice maker, old fixtures and appliances, and dated brown cabinetry. Ugh! There are no fire sprinklers installed in these units because they are older. If there is a big fire at the complex (and there was one in the units next door to me when I lived there), be warned that you will lose all your belongings. Better have renter's insurance. I also had horrible ceiling leaks in my bathroom, which were never repaired properly despite numerous maintenances requests. They didn't repair the sheetrock, and just left the water stains to mold! I would not recommend this community to anyone!
