I think this person is an employee and is clearly attempting to "promote" Sonterra. The new manager is very hard to deal with, all tennants that have lived here long enough to go through the several management changes and shuffle between owners has seen at least management that were willing to do what it took to keep their tennants. Things like new carpet or at least a free shampoo when your lease was up, the painting of an accent wall and the attempts to iron out issues between neighborning tennants that might have had a duspute or two. The current office manager is very uncooperative when it comes to anything. Look, half of the jets in the hot tub in phase II don't work and haven't worked since about mid May or early June. Silly things like that, also they are allowing almost anyone to more into Sonterra so that they can meet their quota. Just Saturday night there were 7 parties going on in the surrounding apartment buildings and another down at the phase II clubhouse. One of the office workers even threw a party down at the clubhouse for halloween with a beer keg and loud music. All attendees seemed to be about college age. This place is going down the toilette, oh and an ongoing complaint - PARKING! If you are not home by 8 o'clock you might as well park outside the gates at the clubhouse because you will not find anywhere to park. People have garages and at times dont even use them, they should at least inforce those tennants park in front of their garages at night to allow others a decent parking spot.
Oh and if you have kids, don't move to Sonterra. There is absolutely nothing for them to do here unless they live at the pool 365 days a year. They don't want them playing in the hall ways (I understand that one), they don't want them playing in the parking lot and there are absolutely no play grounds for them to play in. There is a nice large area they could clear out in the parking lot where they could slap in a playground. But then the kids would have something to do that would keep them out of trouble, so forget that idea!
Oh, (I could go on & on) and the person that I am claiming to be an "employee" mentioned something about Sonterra providing great food, what in the hell! This person clearly bumped their head when they got out of bed. Prior to this manager we had a special team "The Care Team" they threw on a party every month at both clubhouses. The actually cooked food! This new manager brings in fruit (the only fresh thing), small boxes of cereal, milk, store bought muffins, bagels and even brings in her personal smoking toaster from home to cook the bagels. The Care Team cooked breakfast casseroles, sausage eggs and several other breakfast items. They even held Bar-B-Que's at the pools in the summer, popsicle & soda socials for the kids & parents. And even football parties. They sold the TV's from the phase I clubhouse so it would be impossible to hold one of those there now, and Phase II never had one so they would have to rent one (there is an idea) to do that now.
Anyway, so my point is they don't give a rats ass about their tennants, not like they used to. One of the office girls made the comment "we don't need the Care Team, I can do just as good if not better than they did". YeaaaaaaaNO! Tennants that have lived here 5 years are even complaining about the staff & management. Give it several thought before you decide to move to Sonterra, especially if you have a family or dogs!

I would have to disagree wtih you, I personally like the food they serve for resident functions i dont need a meal to be MADE for me thats what YOUR kitchen is for, and the office staff is very friendly.Ive lived her for 5 years and let me tell you the other managment companys wernt all that great, when it came to renewal time they raised my rent almost 100 extra a month and this company only charged less than half of that. So i think they are great!!

I LOVE living at Sonterra. It is a great value and in a great area. Who really rates their apartments on how good they cook? And who goes to those things anyways? I guess people who have nothing better to do with their time. There is a great park that I love to take my dog to within walking distance! I love the people in the office, they even know me by name and my apartment number. I think that's impressive considering how many apartments there are.

The current office manager does not care about anyone and does not take anything into consideration. I have lived here for 3 years now and I am in the process of buying a house and it will not be ready by time my lease is up and I was going to go on month to month for about 3 months and all the other apartments I have talked to and friends say that they will increase it by a couple of hundred. Well they are trying to double the rent and make me pay over 1400 a month. That is more than my mortgage payment will be and I thought maybe its a case by case because if you havent lived here a long time they cant see if you will pay. I have never been late on rent or caused any problems and the answer I got was sorry those are the rules but congratulations on the house. I think she is just mad because she has to live here, Im not sure. I know its her choice to make exceptions I understand to pay more but not double so I say F this place. I will never tell anyone to live here because they dont care about you. You are nothing to them. So Im putting my stuff in storage 300 total for the 3 months and living with friends and family. Hell even a hotel is 900 a month with a full kitchen...I will definatly not miss this place.

HA! Well when my responce to the both of you is, #1 WHY HOLD A FUNCTION THAT INCLUDES FOOD & POP OFF AT THE MOUTH ABOUT HOW MUCH BETTER OF A JOBYOU CAN DO THAN THE PREVIOUS PEOPLE IF YOU AREN'T GOING TO EVEN TRY! #2, YOU ARE TOLD WHEN YOU SIGN YOUR 1ST INITIAL LEASE THAT AFTER YOUR LEASE IS UP YOUR RENT WILL INCREASE BY COMPARANCE TO THOSE SIMILAR TO YOURS ON THE MARKET AT THAT TIME (you must have been day dreaming when they explained that one). #3 IF THEY KNOW YOUR NAME & APARTMENT # THEY YOU MUST BE STAFF...OR A CONSTANT COMPLAINER! #4 - this rating wasn't on how well the staff can cook, the apartments are in a great area with great schools (LISD is rated #1) and you are right you get a great deal for the price you won't find any close BELIEVE ME WE'VE TRIED! MY COMPLAINT IS CONCERNING: MANAGEMENT (not office personnel in general) #5 PEOPLE THAT ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THEIR SURROUNDINGS ATTEND FUNCTIONS SUCH AS ICE CREAM SOCIALS, COOK OUTS AND BREAKFAST SOCIALS! YOU LEARN A GREAT DEAL FROM OTHERS, ABOUT OTHERS AND EVEN ABOUT OFFICE STAFF/MANAGEMENT! I HAVE A FAMILY (WIFE & small CHILDREN) I HAVE TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON AND WHO IS LIVING CLOSE TO ME. #6 PARKING COMPLAINTS, I NOTICE NEITHER OF YOU HAVE MADE ANY COMMENTS ABOUT THIS, EITHER YOU AGREE OR YOU LIVE IN PHASE I WHERE PARKING IS PLENTIFUL. & LAST BUT NOT LEAST #7 NOTHING FOR CHILDREN TO DO, R U TELLING ME THAT YOU ARE GOING TO TAKE YOUR KIDS TO THE PARK EACH AND EVERYTIME THEY WANT TO GO OUTSIDE? I do have a life outside spending time with my family, like making sure my house is clean, laundry is done, etc. My wife and I share these duties and it would be nice for the apartment to invest in their residents since we pay so much in rent the least they could do is provide a park or play area for the tennants. It keeps children from playing in halls and parking lots where it is unsafe, loud and can cause damage to vehicles. Thanks - caring Sonterra tennant.
