When I first rented this apartment, all looked fine and staff seemed friendly. Carpet had been replaced due to the previous tenant. Before moving in, I had to have a window fixed where the pane was not fitting (could be easily removed).

After I moved in, I had trouble with the security bar for the sliding door falling. Was told that was normal, and would not be a problem. Office would not look into fixing bars, even after several of us ended up trapped on our balconys due to falling bars.

The apartment always had a musty smell. Management allowed 6 (or more) painters to share the one bedroom apartment below me (should only have 2 people per bedroom) while painting the outside of the complex. My apartment smelled like cigarette smoke. Management did nothing. These guys were also VERY noisy. Again, I was told the "inconvenience" would be temporary, and I should just deal with it. My allergies to cigarette smoke are so bad, I needed medical assistance. Again, no one cared.

While I lived there, several women were attacked, some even while in their locked apartment. Even the police could not figure out how person was entering the apartments. When I got trapped on my balcony, I found out how intruder gained entrance to apartments. Windows had old locking mechanisms on them that no longer worked. That's right, you thought your windows were locked and secure, but they were not!!! Maintenance knew this. I had a second floor apartment. The guy used a ladder to reach my bedroom window, took off my screen, pulled up hard on the window, and it came right open. When shocked, I asked how he did that, his reply was "most of the windows will do this. In fact, it's rare when they won't". The maintenance guy said "everyone" knew about this. I verified that all maintenance crew and management knew about the faulty windows. I called and asked the police if they knew about the faulty windows. They did not, and said that might have just solved their case. How frightening is that' I broke lease and moved the next day!!!
