nice spacious apt/garage for $$, move out problems

I lived there for a year and enjoyed my time there, I would live there again, if they were better about move out policies & communication. For the most part, neighbors were respectful of your space and being loud. Parties at the pool sometimes got out of hand, but nothing more. A few notices of car/apt theft. The office staff was usually nice to deal with, and willing to help you. Which is why I was surprised to be called 4 months after moving out and told to pay a $400 bill for replacing the carpet, for pet damages and we didn't even have a pet.
