Overall, a good experience

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008

My roommate and I lived here for a year, and were wary to move in at first because of all of the bad reviews written on this site. Right off the bat our suspicions were confirmed.

We put a down payment on a fully wood floor apartment, only to find out when we moved in that our apartment was all carpet. This upset me because we specifically moved here for the wood floors, and if we weren't going to get them we were going to find somewhere else to live. I talked to the manager and Rainier Management installed the wood floors for us in a matter of 2 days, and everything was fine after that. We never had to deal with them again after that, and that's exactly what we wanted.

At first, the first set of management was pretty terrible. They were rude and looked like they were ready to get out of there ASAP every day. But somewhere during the middle of the year a new manager was appointed, and an entirely new staff was hired. These girls were 100x better than the previous management and they gave off the vibe that they cared about their resident's experience at their apartment complex. We volunteered to have our apartment as a show apartment, and I met various members of the staff throughout the second semester of the year. All of them were great.

Throughout the year we had various maintenance problems (nothing significant) and they would literally send a maintenance guy the same day to fix the problem. They were great about that.

The apartment complex is pretty chill. The people who live here aren't your typical west campus people who party all the time. Unfortunately our apartment was next door to a couple of guys who decided they would have people over every night until the wee hours of the night, so that was a bit disturbing.

My roommate and I each decided to pay $25 a month extra for a covered parking spot in the back on the complex, and it was DEFINITELY worth it. You won't have to worry about your car being broken into because it's less visible since it's in a small back alley, and not parked in the front of the complex like the other cars. One night it hailed softball sized hail, and both of our cars were safe bc of the covered parking. Oh, and the parking spots are HUGE. So yeah, if you can get a spot.

Oh yeah, and the apartments are HUGE. We had a 2bed 2bath and everyone who came over was like "man your place is really nice!" Maybe it was the wood floors and the openness of the living room, or maybe we just decorated it well, but it was really nice. One of the rooms is massive, and the other room is smaller but has a HUGE walk in closet (you could fit a small bed in it). The bathrooms are spacious too.

Overall, this place is much better than most of the other college apartment communities. It's nothing like Riverside where they have a mass of apartments and a management that doesn't care about its residents. And it's not like West Campus where you really don't even have a management, and everyone just parties all the time. If you want something quieter, with good management, and spacious apartments, go to Su Casa. You won't be disappointed.
