All the reviews about this place are correct. Let me start with the water problems. The boilers are always breaking down, at least once a week. Sometimes both, sometimes only one, which means you get either cold or warm, not hot, water. I think they're held together with paper clips and Elmer's glue. They recently "upgraded" the pool area, right at the beginning of the summer season. Of course, it took almost 2 weeks to finish. Why wasn't it done during the spring' Mentioning upgrades, there have been two major ones in the last year. First, the exteriors of all the buildings were re-finished with new siding and insulation. But then they were painted in a weird color that does nothing to enhance the look. Once empty, the apartments are given new "wood" floors and fixtures but no new appliances! Then just recently, all the grounds were re-landscaped. Totally unnecessary. All this money could have gone to replace some of the security lighting in the complex which is always going out. I've seen a security guard maybe three times since I've moved in here. There was a parking lot security light that I was complaining about to the staff which didn't work for almost a year. I called City of Austin and it was replaced in three days! Many, if not most of the air conditioning units are over 25 years old, and they all sound like lawn mowers, and you can be sure they are NOT energy-efficient. Ownership has changed at least 3 times since 2005, and the office staff are almost guaranteed to be new every 9 months. Some of the people in the office have been polite or helpful, others not so much. They are either unable or unwilling to help. The maintenance staff are literally overrun with so many problems, so it takes time to get work orders taken care of, unless it's an emergency. So, when all is said and done, I can't recommend this place.
