Seemed like a good place for the right sort of person, just not us

We considered living here for a while but decided to rent elsewhere. We spoke to a member of the management staff and got the impression that the complex was one big family. Some of the members of this family were happy and some were not.
The management seemed to want to be in the residents' business a bit more than we were comfortable with. For instance, it was nice to know that they really didn't party there, but as we were touring the complex the staff member I spoke with made sure to point out every balcony that wasn't clean enough for community standards and that they were going to get written up. Some of the balconies weren't even in terribly bad shape. It just all seemed kind of overkill.
It seemed like they were their own small town within the larger city and that everyone was trying to be in everyone's business. I don't mind being friendly with my neighbors, but when I come home at the end of a tiring day I want the drama to stop, not pick up. If you like a more structured community and would be heavily involved in a neighborhood association if you were in the suburbs, you'd probably love it here, but it wasn't for us. 6TrHFn6pn7poyqNlKEgn
