Okay, so here's the deal. When I moved in four years ago, I did so for price and for location. I knew they were 20 year old apartments, and I knew they weren't top of the line, but they had boiler system hot water, and they had gas appliances. BIG plusses! The trees are nice and the residents generally friendly.

Cut to today - the place is under new ownership, and that ownership has invested in a property to make money. They're making improvements, and it's not the same place I moved into. But you know what' It's not a bad thing - it's just different. Do I like the yellow color of the apartments' Not personally, but it looks a LOT better than the weathered crap that was up before. Likewise with everything else - new fence around the pool, arborists pruning the trees to keep the pool cleaner, new decking, a new door on my apartment that doesn't leak cold air like a sieve (I've seen my electric bill drop by 1/3rd since the new doors and windows!!!), a new sliding glass door that's framed right, is quiet, and works for my 9 year old daughter... and on, and on, and on. BTW, did you know that the new siding qualifies as masonry, reduces the overhead for property insurance (in other words, costs them LESS in the long run) and is MORE firesafe'

Is it perfect' No apartments are. Is it different' Yes. Is it getting better' Yes.

Is Amy et al a change in management style' Yes. Are the management goals different for the property now' Yes. Is that a bad thing' No - it's just different. I've never had them refuse to address a concern, but I don't expect them to cater to my every whim, either.

Tallwood is still a good place to live, a good place to raise a family and overall, a GREAT value in a fantastic location...

My every whim only included that I knew when my windows (yes my windows) were going to be missing. They definately did NOT cater to my every whim.
