Once a Gem

As you can see, been living here now for 11 years! It once was a stable complex, with many long time residents who had been here when it opened as Northcross Apartments in 1978. Mixed race, mixed income, college, elderly, young families waiting for their home. BTW, you will need this old name to search the APD site below! http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/police/apt_crime.htm

Th complex has been turned over many times and owned by MANY different companies. This latest bunch has been renting to people who are 20-something (NOT UT students; wish they were), rarely employed, pink-haired (so '80s, so pathetic), tattoed and stapled, rude, let their dogs poop all over the place... You get the idea.

The result' The long-time residents have fled, en masse. Even the senior/older types are gone. So sad. And I am now looking for another complex. Not everyone wants to own a home.

Because this complex is older, the new company did some phony fixing-up. But come walk to the back of the complex near Bldgs. 13 and 14 and you will see that only the front facing Foster Lane is maintained.

The maintenance people are pathetic and have been for several years now. They fix something half-assed and then leave a mess for you to clean up. There are many plumbing problems: all that old, cheap-o PVC pipe leaks endlessly. They need a new boiler. Hot water outages always in winter, at least once a year regularly. Water-shut off with no notice. And now we pay for water. What a joke! It was not like this when I first move in.

The pluses' So convenient. Near Sun Harvest, the bus, the P.O., Mo-Pac, Shoal Creek, banks. There's even easy access to I-35 via Anderson.

I am so sorry to have to move, but these new owners are money-hungry demons recently released from the pit of hell; and they own complexes all over Austin. The office staff' Not bad. Have had MUCH worse office staff at this complex over the years than the ones in there now.

I cannot recommend this complex as it is now to you. But if you are a drug dealer, here's your dump!
