I have lived here for 2 and a half years and for the most part things have been ok. You get what you pay for I guess. But tonight I found out about some serious problems and the only reason I found out was because I was a victim of it... my car got broken into tonight, and while was waiting on the officer to arrive I found out there were 2 other cars that were broken into as well down the same row I was parked on. PLUS, I met a man who hasn't even been living there a whole MONTH and he let me know HIS AND HIS WIFE'S cars BOTH have been broken into since they moved in!! These apartments have done nothing to let any of their tennants know about the recent DANGER in their property! But we are speaking out, and if you have any concern for your property or your lives for that matter, do not live here. I will be getting out ASAP!
Oh, and by the way they take too long to come fix anything you call them about, their "safety" lights don't even have working light bulbs in them, they do absolutely NOTHING about noise control and yet the statement they write on their website is this:
****
Here, residents are surrounded with respect and service, and we fulfill their need for comfortable housing and an enhanced quality of life. Surrounded by responsive people in a caring community, our residents are regularly reminded of their importance and value to us.
****
We have yet to feel what that statement claims! Good Luck to anyone who has recently signed a new lease with them!

Just to clarify - those are burglaries, not robberies. (Robberies would entail someone threatening your life with physical force/a deadly weapon to obtain your possessions.)
I've lived here for nearly a year and never have had my vehicle(s) broken into. There are some very simple things you can do to drastically reduce your chances of auto burglary - don't be a victim!
1 - Do not leave valuable in your vehicle.
2 - CONCEAL anything remotely valuable if you must leave it. This means everything from pocket change in cup-holders to iPods and purses.
3 - Leave as little in your vehicle as possible, no matter what it is. The best theft deterrent is to make your interior appear as clean as it was when you bought it.
4 - Remove and conceal face-plates to stereos.
Sometimes thieves are on smash-and-grab runs wherein they do not necessarily scope out vehicles before they break in, but most of the time they DO break in because of visible valuables... or should I say, 'desirables.'
Why do I know this? 3.5 years of law enforcement experience.

Wow, you practically just said what the apartments told us on their "Crime Alert Notice" (dated for yesterday but received today). Well, thanks for the clarification but now to clarify your response: I did all that you say should be done to "not be a victim" (you say that as if I chose to be one). There was no face plate on my stereo, no purse left in the car, and nothing else left out. That's probably why they ransacked through everything in the center console and the glove compartment. I will tell you what needs to be done by the apartments: BETTER LIGHTING THROUGHOUT THE WHOOOOOOOLE COMPLEX!!! Look here "anonymous law enforcement experienced individual" first make sure I did all I should've done to not "be a victim" and then you can snap back at me. I understant you have not been a victim in the short amount of time you have lived here but you don't understand how it feels until it happens to you. I felt pretty saffe after not being a victim of a "BURGLARY" (better?)for the last um....almost 3 YEARS! But that doesn't change the fact that the lighting in the whole complex is TERRIBLE! Beleive me, everyone who has been a recent victim of this agrees with me on it and it's because we're not all at the financial point where we could pay for a garage. Until then are we supposed to just park in their irresponsibly designed parking spaces? The lights that are supposed to be facing the direction of the dog park are out or there are no bulbs in the light fixtures. Should we really keep calling them EVERYTIME a light bulb is out anywhere that is NOT in our own apartment? NO. I hope you don't become a victim of this like us, but if you do, I still doubt you will agree with me. You may not like my response but oh well, too bad.

I agree with you. The crime alert letter that was sent out has good information on it, but I would have liked to have seen a list of things that the apartment complex was going to do to make this a safer place. Better lighting along the parking spaces by the front entrance and along the dog park would go a long way at helping deter things like this from happening. There is a reason cars parked in the worst lit areas are always being targeted. There is not enough parking for us to always choose where we want to park and we are forced to park in these high risk areas. Also, just as a warning, these criminals are not targeting valuables. Everyone I have talked to has said that nothing was taken from their cars. The list of things that apartment says we can do to prevent this from happening would not have stopped any of these break-ins from happening. I have lived here for over 3 years as well, and have been for the most part pleased with the service I have received from the managment team. Until these recent events that is. On the night my car was broken into, I got no response from anyone in the apartment team. No one came to check to see how things were going. No one from security came to assess the situation. As far as I saw, the next day an employee drove by the broken-in car, glanced at it, and kept driving. That was the most response I got from the apartment complex. And yes, I did make them aware of the break-in the night it happened. Just to sum it all up, I am disappointed with the lack of response from the apartment complex. I saw some light bulbs being replaced and that is a start, but they have a long way to go to improve our saftey on their property. We can only do so much. If you are looking to move here, it is a good place to live during the day, but be cautious at night. Until they improve the lighting, this will continue to be a dangerous place for your cars at night. Also, to respond to the law enforcement officer, you should know that there are always things that a company can do to make its campus safer. We would just like to see this apartement complex take certain measures to improve our saftey. The blame does not fall completely on the victim.
