I LOVE this Apartment!

Of all the apartments I?ve ever lived in, this one is definitely my favorite. The views are spectacular, and the apartment is a great deal, especially since we work on the northwest edge of town.

Many of the apartments face an expansive nature preserve with miles of undeveloped forest. It?s a very calm and peaceful setting, and great for feeding the birds (and squirrels). The view is AMAZING and on the third floor, we're above the treeline and have lots of natural light inside.

The complex is pet friendly and even allows larger pets. This means lots of large dogs live in the complex, and pet waste has been a problem in the past, but additions of more bag stations along with stricter rules from a new manager are helping clean things up.

The fitness center is great. It's large enough to fit at least half a dozen people comfortably and has a nice variety of weight machines along with the treadmills, bikes, and stairmasters. Two of the machines have been broken for a while, but it's not so noticeable, since there are so many others.

The lap pool is also fantastic for summer exercise, and it isn?t surrounded by apartments, so I don't worry about noise during late-night lap swimming.

The large deck area by the pool is nice for sunbathing, and the grills farther back into the woods allow nice shady picnics. Unfortunately there aren't any lights around them, so evening grilling (before Daylight Savings Time kicks in) isn't really an option.

The apartments and appliances are new, but like many apartmens built around the same time, the workmanship isn?t astounding. Some things, particularly the bathroom fixtures, are already starting to show age.

The single-path layout of the complex is a little awkward, since living in the back involves a 5-minute drive to the gate. Also, the tightly packed buildings leaves little room for trees or landscaping inside the complex. This makes the canyon-side apartments much more desirable with the shade and greener views. In contrast, the area around the pool is beautifully wooded.

For a while, the sewer system had some problems, but it appears this has been fixed. When it was an issue, maintenance was always prompt, once the office was alerted to the problem (I even saw people out working on it late at night).

The office staff is efficient, though not overly friendly. Instead, the complex employs a special resident team to arrange community parties and events. It's a homey touch, but it's more focused on families with kids.

And finally, parking can be a nightmare. A reserved, covered parking space was included in our rent, and we were lucky to get a spot near our unit. There are also garages with a lot of units. However, additional parking and guest parking can be very difficult, especially in certain parts of the complex.

Overall, I?m very happy with the apartment and the complex. We just signed our lease for the next year.
