Poorly built

This is a JPI property. They consistently build properties that look good, but are total crud. JPI builds crap and then sells it. These were so poorly built when I moved in when they were new, the bathroom doors didn't fit in the frames so that could lock. My patio door had a half inch between the bottom of it and the ground that water and bugs and air were a problem. The materials they use must be the cheapest available. And the staff is great when you're signing the lease and when you're living there, but when you move out they really try to screw you. I lived in two JPI properties and my folks rented once. All three times they tried to charge for things that were there when I got there or made charges that were out of line. If it says JPI, run, run, run. If it was ever built by JPI, run. The walls are so thin you can hear everything your neighbors do and I mean everything. Plus parking is a nightmare. And if you pay for a spot, be prepared for someone constantly thinking they have a right to it.

I live at a JPI property in a different state, California, I am considering moving to Austin. It surprises me that you think JPI is so awful, I have had nothing but great experiences from them. Noise comes with apartments, you just expect it. As far as JPI and run the other way, JPI is great, I always get things taken care of and would highly recommend them to anyone. I have lived at the Regatta for about 6 months now and think it is awesome, the staff is very nice and if that is how JPI is, I would live at any of their properties.
