We have lived at Tintara (formerly called Jefferson Canyon & Jefferson Lakes) for 5 months. (Apartment Ratings just recently added Tintara, but only pulled past reviews for Jefferson Lakes. Check out the 25% recommend bad reviews under Jefferson Canyon which is still listed on Apartment Ratings. I actually posted this message in June, but it didn't get added to the reviews for the new Tintara page.)

The grounds are relatively nice for the price. However, don't count on the entry gates working properly. They never do.

While the grounds look decent, they are not maintained properly. He's gone now, but there used to be a frog living in the hot tub. There are two pools, but they are generally bug- and leaf-filled and the water is strangely cloudy. No telling what's in that water.

The real problem with Tintara is the management.

"Incompetent" doesn't really begin to capture the level of idiocy. Whenever you ask a question or have a concern, expect to get a glassy-eyed stare and an eye-roll. You'll also come to appreciate the insulting brush-offs, dismissive laughs and extreme laziness.

Specifically, I would recommend not dealing with -------------. Their incompetence wouldn't be so bad if it weren't paired with rudeness and outright dishonesty.

Don't expect a straight answer. Ever.

We've found that it helps to imagine that you're talking with a toddler or maybe a puppy. Try to use small words, look them directly in the eye and use a stern voice when necessary.

It probably won't help, but you may not get as aggravated.

There are many apartment complexes in the area. If you're looking, steer clear of Tintara.

ok clearly you hate it here and why do you not put you name? It is easy to talk trash about people when you hide behind a computer screen with no name. I have been a resident here for over a year and love it. While (like every complex) it may not be perfect, the office staff is first rate. They have always been helpful to us when something did not work right (which is rare). If you really hate it here you could always move and just pay the out clause on your contract.

I agree that was a horrible and rude statement to say. Especially since so many of us have had great experience with the management... ESPECIALLY --------------! I consider them friends. Yes maybe some of the ground work is lacking like the gates but have you considered how many apartments they are managing with so little of people in the office. I know they try their best! so please give them a break.

I saw that frog in the spa too! The water was green then. And I've also had problems with those girls in the leasing office.

I'm totally on your side with this one! I'll tell you why people write in annoymously-because the people in the front office suck and if they found out who you were they would make your life even worse when you have to go in and ask them to fix something! We have had nothing but problems since we moved in a few months ago and now we are just waiting out our lease. Must be nice that some people think breaking a lease is easy. I don't know about you but I would rather keep my credit and my apartment renting status as pretty good! Not to mention I wouldn't give these people another dime. I'll just continue to complain till they do their job. They are getting paid for a job in customer service and someone should re-think who they hired.

You have to post anonymous if you live here. The reality of this place is that you have to contact the property manager if you want the posibility of getting attention. Even that doesn't work sometimes. Waterton has let this place go to hell on the inside. It used to be much nicer and still looks somewhat ok, but time is taking it's toll. It was built between 2000 and 2002. Don't be fooled by the front agents appearance of friendliness. What matters is the apartment. I must say they have improved it a little over the years, but the place is aging and needs inside remodeling. If you look at what's around you for the price, there is no comparison. Only option is to rent in one of the nearby luxury apartments just built, otherwise you will have to grin and bear it because there is nothing else in the area thats better for the price. If someone could only convince the builders of the empty office complexes to build apartments, then you would see a change.
