I subleased through a friend of a friend this past summer and evrything went well until I moved in and saw BLOOD underneath the matress I was supposed to sleep on.
I would think the management would have replaced the matress but they didnt. There was mold on the window pane behind my dresser and it took them FOREVER to clean it up.
The bathroom was disgusting with mold and mildew all on the fitures-- they should have replaced the old stuff in the bathroom. This was clearly not qorth $460.00 a month. Maybe $300 a month.......nah thats pushing it! Anyhow, the furniture was old, the carpet was FILTHY and satrting to come up off the floor on the edges!!!!
I only subleased for the summer for 3 months but it was a horible experience. I could never sleep at night because it was creepy.... oh yeah and the management are total a-holes if you know whatI mean (make sure you keep every document they give you and ask questions.)
When I moved out, they tried to charge me for keys --$75.00, $4.00 drip pans, and carpet cleaning $35.00. I turned in my keys and before I moved out they sent out a flyer stating the moveout process and said to get a receipt of the key return, I surely did-- so I had proof when they tried to mail me the charges.
Bottom line--- if you sublease-- you take on what ever the person before you did to the apartment (dont think you are benefiting by doing this, yeah it may be cheap to sublease but you will utlimately end up paying the price.) I owuld have been better off getting a 3 month lease through an unfurnished apartment than staying here in a subleased apartment!!!
Worst experience ever--- but a learning experience!!! You get for what you pay for!!! You can do better--- dont stay here!!!
