While the apartments themselves are quaint and accessible, security is the biggest issue when it comes to living between Wickersham and Pleasant Valley. So far this year there have been at least 10 car stereo robberies and one car robbery at the back of the complex right by Pleasant Valley. How do I know' My truck was stolen just 3 weeks after I first moved in, before 2 a.m. on a Monday night, and others have reported stereo theft within the past 2 weeks. While "security is not gauranteed," it is not provided at all. The entrance gates are monitored, however, are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, while promise after promise of closing them "soon" are handed out like fliers on the West Mall. The gate bars are easily pried open, so intruders can come in without being detected on camera, and can drive off in your car through the exit gates, which are unmonitored. IF they ever do close the gates, it is well after everyone has moved in, and well after all the other apartment complexes in the area have shut their gates.
