People prejudge that this place would be dangerous or such a ghetto just because it is located in riverside area, which has a bad reputation mainly b/c of many colored residents. However, this is one of those large college complex, and it is not that bad to live here. Most of neighbors are college students, not scary colored people who have guns and break into your car or so. The rent is good for college kids, and the utility pack and the UT shuttle are really convenient.
The level of noise is up to your neighbors. Not every unit suffers from noise. My neighbors throw a party once in a while, but they are not so loud, and so i still can study while they have parties.
i think people should keep in mind that this place gets worse reviews than actually as it is because of PREJUDICE that college students would have loud, inconsiderate parties and many poor dangerous colored people would be around the complex looking for a prey.
The only things I don't like about living in this place are 1. my inconsiderate upstair's noisy footsteps and 2. --------' racing at Albertson's parking lot at Saturday nights. Just don't pick a unit facing the albertsons.

Wow...thank you for that enlightening review of University Commons. Yet I must say you have about as much tact and common sense as douche bag. Your anarchistic views about people of color (no matter who you were referring to) paint the simplicity and ignorance of your upbringing. Never mind the fact that you have such a narrow minded perspective about crime due to our bias media, but it???s a shame that idiots like you attend The University of Texas at Austin. Anyways your stupidity is not worth any more of my time.

I must agree with the other responses to your review. You may have been trying to defend University Commons - whether they deserve that or not - but you just came off as an utter idiot yourself who should not be living anywhere near a prestigious university, let alone be attending one. The only prejudice that exists here is within yourself. I hated living in the area because of how unsafe I and others felt. It had nothing to do with the races of the people around us. Sometimes crimes were perpetrated by drunk students or irresponsible youth. Other times they weren't. You really are not worth more of a reply than what I or the two others above me have already written, but I'll just say that I hope that if and when you graduate you find yourself a job worthy of your intelligence and character... at McDonald's or some other chain fast-food place.
