University Commons as an apartment complex shows great potential. However as the saying goes, potential means you haven't performed yet. I have lived at University Commons for almost a year now under two different management companies and the experience has been unpleasant to say the least. When my roommates and I signed our lease, we asked that we be roomed with a non-smoker. Ironically we were thrown into an apartment with Mr. Marlboro himself. On move-in day we noticed a disgusting, stained carpet, marked up walls, and dirty bathrooms. We told management that the apartment was dirty and we were told that because someone was living there, they weren't going to clean it.
Fast forward to the last month or so. I extended my lease like an idiot. ( I couldn't beat the prices..I'll give them that) I was a little unsure of whether or not I should pay my previous rent so I called the office. I was told that I would pay the new rent rate. Two months later, I talk to my roommate and he had been paying the old rate. The fact that the office employees have attitude is bad enough. Combining a bad attitude with incompetency is unbearable.
University Commons offers incredible prices and a somewhat peaceful experience. I haven't ever really had problems with noise and such. On the other hand, if you are looking for honest, trustworthy, and completely competent management, look elsewhere.
