the two years i lived here was the worst period of my life. First, i was paired with a ghetto roommate from the inner cities of Detroit. I did not feel comfortable with him and felt totally unsafe in own place. Some residents here a very rude and lack the basic skills of social decorum. You will be constantly harrased by unpleasant and filthy individuals(residents or non-residents). The apartment i was given did not have a functioning dishwasher, dryer took forever to dry, and mattress wasn't there when i got there. I had a temporary mattress that sucked and had to wait for two weeks for a quality mattress. The complex is very noisy with people partying, breaking beer bottles, vandalizing other peoples cars, and getting into fights. The area is extremely unsafe with police sirens going off constantly because riverside is the most dangerous place in Austin. The car gates do not work about 90% percent of the time and gates for people do not have a lock. Reportedly, there has been fist fights, stabbings, burglaries, and car thefts. After the weekends, it is common to find trash litterd around the apartments and cigarrete butts are found in every building's balcony. I would not recommend this place to anybody who seeks a calm, student-friendly environment. The utilities all paid deal is not worth it, taking into consideration the wretched conditions of the apartment complex.

I live here and agree with most of what you said. Though Riverside isn't the most delightful of places, it isn't close to being the most dangerous (statistically). Just might not want to exaggerate things if you really want to be helpful.
