When I moved into my apartment, the place hadn't even been cleaned. The carpet probably hasn't been replaced in 5 years; instead of putting in new carpet they just cut out the huge stains and patched in new pieces. I've had problems with the air conditioner occasionally leaking into my kitchen, but by the time maintenance gets around to coming by the problem has stopped and they tell me nothing is wrong. I had problems with the pipes in my shower (no pressure, no hot water), and when maintenance looked at it, it was apparently such an issue that they had to break down half the wall. The walls itself are paper thin; you can hear everything that goes on outside or next door. I lived on the second floor, and there is constant noise from the third floor. This is sometimes due to someone just being a bad neighbor but usually due to the horrible floor construction. There are metal plates in places underneath the carpet that make a terrible noise when walked on. I can only conjecture that there was something wrong with the original floor itself.

Management is constantly turning over. I don't think anyone has been there for more than 6 months and no one has been helpful. Previous tenants upstairs were so noisy and loud (usually in the middle of the night) that I had to call the police on several occasions. This was after I had tried to talk to management and they refused to do anything about it. A friend who lived here while I did, but moved out said they didn't return any of his deposit, and he had to call several times and threaten to sue to get anything back at all. This complex, and the management company who "runs" it should be avoided at all costs. Being relatively close to campus is not worth the misery of living here.
