People take note! My roomate and I were blown away by Heights' "model apartment" when we visited. We were told none of the other units were avaiable to be shown. At the time we were college students and wanted to be frugal. The apartment we were shown to on move in day was worse than any frat house I'd ever been too. Rust/vomit/unknown stains on carpet, cracked floors, cracked windows and roaches EVERYWHERE. Not to mention a constant stream of shady looking people walking around the grounds at all hours. To the management's credit, they did replace the carpet (after we complained) but after two weeks my roommate and I decided to get out while we could. Again, to the management's credit, they allowed us to dissolve our contract and paid only two months rent to leave that place before we were really sorry. Also, I found this out after we left that there were TWO registered sex offenders living in that complex according to county police records. Scary, and those were the only two that had been caught and convicted. I think if you don't feel safe somewhere, you probably aren't and I'm glad I got out after learning from this expensive mistake. If you care to live somewhere safe, it is definately worth it to pay a few more hundred a month for that luxury.
