Here's the gist of my experience at University Heights: The neighbors above me, who happen to work at the front office, so you can't really complain, have exceedingly loud, bi-weekly parties, often until 7AM. The ceiling in my bathroom is falling down. So far, I have caught 3 rats in my apartment. When it rained, my apartment flooded, and not just at the doors, but at the walls too. Maintenance takes at least a month to come out, if they come out at all. On numerous occasions I was "accidentally" overcharged, but they did look over and refund those charges. The popcorn texture usually found on ceilings is also on my walls because they have tried to cover up so much damage done to the walls. None of the doors fit properly, not even the outside doors. Because of the parties, parking is often hard at night. Despite being a gated community, the gates never worked while I was there. The pool was under construction the entirety of my stay. My mail box had been tampered with by the previous owner, so anyone could get in it. My car was broken into in the "gated" parking lot. The windows have such flimsy locks, someone opened the window and stole stuff from my apartment. The windows often are held up strictly with calking and not metal barriers. It took me three months to get oven racks from the maintenance. There's glass often on the parking spaces. Ants are a large problem.
There are two good things about this apartment complex: 1. Free Expanded cable (although, it's a b**** to get the cable company to install) 2. It has a UT Bus stop directly in front of it.
That's it.
