This Complex IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM!!!!

Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2002
I've lived here with a roommate for 2 years. In that time our hopes for better apt living were dashed. The management changed over and in that time so did the overall attitude. When attempting to resolve maintenance matters or any other, the level of customer sevice/communication is LESS THAN SUB PAR!!!! Unacceptable. In response to problems on the property it has been unacceptable. The gate cards which required a 15dollar deposit were worthless as the gates themselves worked improperly 80% of the time I lived there. The Dryers left everything to be desired as they consistently blew cold air and took money. It took 1yr and 6mo. for them to replace the units with rechargable card system. Which if accidentally magnetized or damaged could lose entire amount on the card.
Package pickup in the office was a task in patience. With the exception of one office attendant, the service was consistently rude and condescending!!!! CONSISTENLY!!!!
Security was and will always be an issue as they stated to us verbally that while they do have security cameras they do not record any actions on video tape. (defeats the purpose)
Theft has always been an issue, my roommate's car was broken into on 2 occasions and had their stereo stolen. Amazing when you think that it's a college complex(or is it') with people walking around at ALL TIMES OF THE NIGHT. A security guard that I only observed walk the grounds once which was during the day.
Also the complex allows families to push maximum capacity which I observed members of the maintenance(2 families w/kids) living within one 2bedroom unit. That's a total of 5-7(2 or 3infants NOT CHILDREN) people living within ONE 2bedroom unit.
The response time on work orders was based on the office's ability to first fill out the work order on paper. Several work orders were requested and never acted upon, some by the mere fact that they were never noted in any logs. In the middle of summer a window was broken and took better part of 2 weeks(leaked a/c) to finally repair a broken window.
The manager herself has worked hard to remove herself from lines of communications with MOST tenants and I have witnessed on several occasions instances of verbal beratement of the office staff and maintenance with tenants and future prospecting tenants in audience.
Beware your lease agreement with them, consult the Better Business Bureau and the Austin Tenant's Council before moving into this place. You might be paying more in money and personal anguish than you can possibly imagine.
I have done my best to rate the complex on the ratings provided, and there are some good points to be made, but they pale in comparison to the problems. It's not a question of negativity, it's a question of PROPER CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I truly believe that all problems are and were handled in a manner that was and is reflective of the Manager and the Mngmt Company. While it is easy to be angry with the office staff(who obviously answer to the mngt) it isn't quite their fault but there are better places to work, and I believe they were privvy to certain situations involving tenants and have chosen either to look the other way or to facilitate the further wrongdoings of the Complex. If you stop by the complex to look and observe, you should note the expressions on the faces of those that work there, and then visit a complex that actually costs a bit more money. While most of us can't afford better housing, the truth is you TRULY GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. HOWEVER, THIS PLACE WILL TAKE MORE THAN JUST YOUR RENT!!!!!!!
