People who enjoy living here are either delusional or have had the great luck not to run into problems.
UH is a decent complex. I love my 700 sq ft one bedroom. However, there are several issues, the most important one being maintenance.
I moved into UH in July of last year. My AC broke about 3 weeks after I moved in and it has never properly worked since. You have to put in multiple request just to get them to come look at it. And when they did come out, they kept doing the same type of repair and it kept breaking. The unit obviously needed to be replaced, but I guess it wasn't worth it to them to do so. My AC still to this day doesn't work right, but I've just given into the fact that it wouldn't get fixed before I move out. I have to turn my AC on the night before so that my apt can be cool the next day! Other lights and doors in my apt are broken and remain unfixed. I have a leaky ceiling.
As far as staff goes, they are nice - even when you have a problem they nod as if they are sympathetic but the problem never gets fixed.
The "security gates" have never been closed in the year that I've been here.
There are lots of low lit areas w/ lots of shrubery and I constantly look behind my shoulder while walking to my apt in the center of the complex. I've never had too much of a prob w/ noise here but not the quietest either.
The only thing the apt is good for is the Otis Spunkmeyer cookies they make in the office every day.
Honestly, I have no vindetta against the apartment, but there are other places that would be much better to live at.
