My lease recently expired at Univ. Heights, and boy-o-boy am I excited. This was the worst complex that I have ever experienced. The maintenance staff is horrible. I believe that they stole items out of my apt. on supposed maintenance visits. The gated community is a farce. The gate never closed for a year while I was a tenant. Furthermore, my vehicle was broken into during the past Thanksgiving Holidays. Yea, I was thankful for the lack of support that I received from the leasing office on that matter. I was overcharged several times for bogus expenses. Although, I did have the expenses corrected it was a hassle and unbecoming to deal with these type of issues repeatedly. Finally, don't let the cheap rent deceive you. Your living experience is more valuable than a few bucks off on rent. Indeed.

So true about the gate, lol, it has not closed once in a year and a half. We stil lhave the gate keys they gave us and never have used them once. We have been so lucky not to have our car broken into. I'm not sure about the maintenance as we given up on bothering to call to get anything fixed anymore. They have always been such a joke. I think I will give it a shot to see if they come out and fix something, I think I have seen some new people working on stuff lately. And as far as getting things right in the office as to what you owe, beware, GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING, and send them a copy or take a copy with you to the office everytime you pay rent. You may even still get a letter saying you didn't pay for this or that. I think management has changed about 4 times since we have been here, GET ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING IN WRITING. Everytime they get a knew manager they will try and ignore anything you have worked out with the past manager. GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING. I guess if you really want to live here all I can say is expect thungs to be or get bad (your a.c./heater/roof/lights/plumbing)and expect them to do whatever it takes not to have to fix it. (If you do drugs you may want to share with some of the maintenance. You just might suddenly find yourself at the top of the waiting list.)
