For a college student, it was functional. Sure, the renovations were a pain in the ass to deal with, and management seemed to come in unnanounced ALL THE TIME, but overall, I was happy. I never had any real maintenance problems, the place was clean, fairly new, and my furniture was nice.
I'd say that if you 1) don't want to buy furniture or appliances, 2) don't feel comfortable sharing a lease with someone else, and 3) just want a decent pet-friendly place to live while you're in school, I would recommend it. Tanning beds are nice, too.
I have heard about lots of break-ins, but no experience with it myself.

I had a break in and when I told management they didn't seem to care. The one indian girl said "oh thats been happening a lot. They are breaking in through the patio doors." Don't you think they should let other residents know.. yea.
