decent place - worth the rent

Of the eight years I've lived in Austin, I have never lived in as nice a place. No complaints about the office staff. They were always prompt to address my concerns or needs. No complaints about the apartment itself other than the A/C. This complex uses heat pumps instead of normal A/C units. This means, in this climate, that you can end up paying more to cool your place. This is offset though by the insulation. I found the apartment to have very good weather insulation. Take both those points into consideration - they more or less offset each other. Like any other apartment complex, you can end up with noisy neighbors. I had a full family upstairs and then a late night bunch. Not entirely pleasant always, but you may be able to deal with it. The between floor insulation is non-existant, so you can and will hear your neighbors unless they are quiet people. I would not necessarily place the noise level at more than average though. As stated in other reviews, the gates almost never work. It appears as if people get over zealous or don't care and drive into them often. What do you expect though' Gates are nothing but a false sense of security unless they are monitored by a security station. All in all, I would say this was a nice apartment. The office staff was responsive. The maintenance staff was responsive. The grounds were kept well. The lighting was adequate.
