Family Friendly but management going downhill

I had a decent experience when I lived on the leasing office side from 2002-2003. The management was wonderful in those days but there was a lot of noise coming from the bedroom above me (possible domestic violence) and I called police once a month or so, the office could do only so much. Things got done on time as far as maintenance goes and I never had any complaints with the office.
My second experience came when I returned from 2004-present on the train tracks side. The trains are very noisy and you'd never know how close they are until you move in so be forewarned. This experience has not been as good but started out great because my they were cool to waive renewal fees. The maintenance staff remains friendly and Dawn (professional and great), Teddy (very very nice guy, will do anything to help), Clayton, and Kirby (sweet) are wonderful but the management which used to be sweet under Amber' I think, has become more businesslike and treats you more like a nuisance than a person. Little things that are no problem for maintenance in my past experience like unplugging trash disposals seem to fluster management now, like this person's calling again''' One individual who does not help matters is Rod who always goes around this stuff if he can and delegates it for weekdays so that he won't even have to write it in the book. Rod always!!!! says something about how you'll have to wait and call on Monday for the simplest things but Andy and Jean would never be like that. They're both very professional but a little too much for my taste, I liked the old how's it going with a smile attitude.
All in all, a decent place for the money but renewal fees may end my stay here soon. Bet it would be cheaper if you came in for the first time than for someone here 4 yrs.
I'd recommend, but wait until they're done painting, the ladders hitting my apt at 9 am were unbearable.
I was never vandalized in my time here, that stuff occured in Far West and riverside but not here
