I lived here in 2003 and I hope they've got new staff by now. When I moved in with my boyfriend who was already living there I filled out an application and it took me a while to get back to them with it, when I did return my app I felt bad for taking so long, Since at the time I was a manager at palm beach tan up the street I gave them each a free month of tanning. They weren't very excited about that didn't say thanks or anything. What followed was quite possibly the crappiest year ever. I got so many lease violations for stupid things, for instance, my 2 year old daughter was watching cartoons and it was too loud for our downstairs neighbors so we had the cops called on my 2 year old and a lease violation on my door the next day, during the holidays my boyfriend and I had 5-6 guests over for a holiday get together, we weren't loud and the guests were gone by 9. A few days later I got a lease violation on my door for having people live in my apartment without them being on my lease. I didn't know I needed to inform them of my friends visiting, I went to the office to dispute this but was told that once the made a violation the couldn't take it back and if we had one more problem we could be evicted. Well before you could say violation another one popped up on my door this time for my boyfriends truck, it hadn't been moved in 1 1/2 weeks due to him being on a bussiness trip and they wanted it removed from the property because they said it was inoperable. That was the last straw these people obviously didn't want us there so I decided not to renew my lease, when I went to the office to let them know I had discovered that my lease already expired and was renewed automatically. I had to break my lease and pay $1000 markey rent and reletting fee's to move without it being on my credit. These people are truly heartless and I think the just enjoy making people mad.The entire time I lived there I felt unwelcome, not exactly the way you want to feel aftera hard day at work.

I apologize for what happened three years ago, I wish I could change that, but good news is that the staff is totally different today. I have been here a little over 2 years so please don't hold Village Oaks today to Village Oaks yesteryear.

WOW, amazing! I surely wouldn't want this to happen to me. What policies are in place to protect renters when they find themself in this situation. If the managment is different now, I am sure you would be more than willing to rectify by giving readers here some good advice! Look forward to hearing your response.

Of course I don't hold a grudge now that the old managers are gone. It was a beautiful property and I loved the floorplan. I am now in property management and I still can't understand what would make them treat me that way. There really isn't anything a renter can do to protect themselves from this. I guess just be careful where you rent, watch how the manager interacts with other residents and if it seems wrong don't rent there.
