This apartment is not worth the rent quoted/amenities provided

Village Oaks has one big advantage in terms of location. It is very close to 183 and Mopac. Its proximity to HEB, Randalls and Arboretum adds to it. Otherwise, the apartments are quite old constructions with creaking floors and decaying walls. The dishwasher/washer/dryer were primitive and used to break down often. Maintenance was quite prompt. The management was not the friendliest I have seen, but the Asst. Manager of the property was very accomodative and friendly. The manager on the other hand was arrogant and curt. One disturbing aspect of the apartment was the fact that rent increases were grossly high when you compare with the amenitites provided. Overall the apartment is overrated for its location and has very little else to offer. Safety is probably another drawback since the apartment community is not gated and any miscreant can just walk in anytime.
