Staff is the key between a great place to live and a dive

This place wasn't a great value to begin with, you primarily pay for the location when staying here. The ceilings are THIN- I can hear my upstairs neighbors as they get ready for work each morning, the fitness room consists of free weights and five machines, and my appliances are very old. My husband's car was also broken into despite the nice area and he is not the only one, a few weeks before we had received written notice on the problem. But the staff was so awesome I renewed my lease based on them.
I have lived here happily for over two years but when Equity sold the property to Northland it has all gone downhill. The staff before was friendly, helpful and I liked them so much I would bake for them on occasion. When Northland took over they made blanket changes to policy without informing residents until a week or so after the changes were implemented. When I initially met the new manager he didn't even bother to introduce myself I had to call him out the second time we crossed paths and introduce myself. All of the staff are like detached wooden dolls and patronize you. Yuck. The previous mangager left as well as all senior staff minus the maintenance crew.
If they had left a few months earlier we would not have renewed our lease. As it stands we are stuck here until November 2009.
I would NOT recommend this place to new tenants anymore. Stay away because it's miserable when you dread having to go to the office for anything.
