This is a beautiful complex which is sort of glued onto the rear of the Oak Run Apartments next door. You can hardly tell where one ends and the other begins. Anyway, it's VERY quiet and clean. The residents are all middle class and friendly or keep to themselves. All apts have w/d connections. Top floor apts have vaulted ceilings and many have fireplaces. The whole area is beautifully shaded by hundreds of gnarled old oak trees and the area is hilly, allowing for great views of the city and of wooded areas. The management is very friendly and helpful and maintenance is top-notch. The only drawbacks really are that the hot tub doesn't work (as a matter of fact, they filled it with dirt and planted a palm in it - funny) and then there's the neighborhood. It's one of those odd South Austin areas. The apartments themselves (plus neighboring Oak Run) are quite nice and seemingly safe, but there are a number of apartment communities just across the road which appear extremely run down and seedy. I've even seen gang graffiti in that area. There was an attempted car burglary across the road which turned into a homicide when the burglar was confronted by the car's owner (he was stabbed to death). That was a number of years ago though, and it's been very quiet ever since. Good shopping is nearby (Randall's, Central Market, Barton Creek Sq Mall) and South Austin Hospital is just across the fwy. Overall, it's one of the best apartment communities I've ever been in. Two thumbs up.
